New Zealand Weather

My first job was working as a Meterological Observer. Yes I worked in a New Zealand Weather office... At that stage we actually worked alongside the weather forecasters, we had three operating out of our office. We worked shiftwork and each shift a different forecaster was on duty. Their philosophies on forecasting always amused me and I list them here - hopefully it will give you a smile too...
Forecaster 1 - 'I always forecast a cold front - because sooner or later one will come along'.
Forecaster 2 - 'I always forecast fair weather because noone really knows what fair weather is.
Forecaster 3 - 'I always forecast fine weather - because it is fine most of the time and if it is wet now, it will soon be fine'.
Now I doubt that that was how they did actually forecast, as they were quite good forecasters, I can see the sense in it though.
